Dr. Mike McCarthy, an internationally known expatriate physician, licensed in Emergency Medical Care, General & Occupational Health and International Evacuation Procedures, heads IMSS.

Dr. McCarthy has had first hand experience and knowledge in this region for the past 6 years. In the last 8 years, Dr. McCarthy has specialized in start up and management of all aspects of construction, project health care, primary care, project occupational health care and safety. He was involved at a senior level with the largest pipeline construction projects in the region (BP's Western Route Project in Georgia '97-99 and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (7,000 workers) 99-2001 in Russia.

Dr. McCarthy was recently appointed the official KLM physician for Georgia.
